Ahead of former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam’s arrival in Pakistan, security arrangements have been beefed up in the provincial capital of Lahore, reports ANI.
Sharif and Maryam are expected to be arrested when they arrive at Lahore airport today at 6:15pm (local time). The father-daughter duo were sentenced to lengthy jail terms by an anti-corruption court in Pakistan last week.
Sharif was handed a 10-year jail term over the purchase of luxury London flats, while his daughter Maryam was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam’s flight from Abu Dhabi to Lahore delayed due to “unspecified” reasons, reports Pakistani media. Dawn newspaper, quoting an airport official, said the reason for the hold-up was a delay in an Etihad flight arriving in Abu Dhabi from Bangkok, which is supposed to fly EY243’s passengers to Lahore.

Security agencies and traffic police have worked out traffic plans to execute an effective security strategy, ahead of father-daughter duo’s arrival in Lahore, reported Dunya News.
